INTERPRETING
We offer the services of qualified interpreters for conferences, meetings and appointments where several languages are spoken.
There are various types of interpreting:
simultaneous: the interpreter sits in a cabin and translates the speaker’s words as they are being spoken. Those listening wear headsets so that they can hear the interpreter.
consecutive: the interpreter listens to the speaker and subsequently delivers the content in the required language, often with the help of notes.
asymmetric: this requires several interpreters; all speakers are permitted to speak in their own language, but they have a choice of just a few languages in which to listen to the interpretation.
liaison: the interpreter serves as a relay between two people who speak different languages, translating both into and out of his or her mother tongue.
whispered: during a meeting, if only one or two people don’t understand the speaker, the interpreter sits behind these people and whispers a translation of the speaker’s words to them.
